LGBTQ Affirming Christian Counseling

For many in the LGBTQ+ community, when they hear the term Christian counseling- the thought alone brings about feelings of fear, being condemned, and memories of being judged for who we are. This is not the case AT ALL  when we begin to work together. Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community I have experienced my share of church hurt, fear, and pain. I understand that our community is very fluid and you can feel reassured knowing that your sexuality, lifestyle, and even relationship choices will always be respected.

LGBTQ+ Christian counseling is right for you if you are looking to work with a Gay Affirming Therapist; are looking to strengthen rebuild your relationship with God, grow in your faith, have been hurt by the church, or would like to address other issues from a Christian and Therapeutic perspective.

So many of us have been hurt by the church, pushed away, and condemned because of hatred and the lack of understanding of others. Despite all of this we have held true to our values and have never shaken our trust in God. Thankfully today we have developed many LGBTQ+ Christian organizations and have also aligned ourselves with Gay Affirming churches and other support systems that are accepting of who we are and I would like to be an additional resource to you.

When we examine issues from a faith-based perspective we still address them clinically, but we allow ourselves to pull from biblical principles and be open to Spirit-led interactions which help us to hear God more clearly while growing in our faith. This approach is a collaborative process that happens between both client and counselor which often leads to divine inspiration and a much better interpretation of life issues.
